In a dark little town
Lay a baby in a manger
Lay a baby, lying down
On a dark and stormy sea
In a boat about to drown
In the bottom of that boat
Lay that baby, lying down
On a dark passover morn
In a tomb beneath the ground
Lay the body of a rabbi,
Once that baby, lying down
He shook off death like morning blankets
Graveclothes falling to the ground
A gift unwrapped, a treasure opened
God's own mercy coming down
Ohhhh so beautiful!
