As we left, I noticed he was wearing two left boots. Turns out, he and his bestie have nearly identical boots and he was wearing one of each pair.
'No problem,' I said, 'we'll just zip back to school and you can change them before your friend leaves.'
'Mama, NO!' he exclaimed.
I was mystified. 'Why not?'
'This is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me!' he cried. When I asked what was so embarrassing, he couldn't articulate it, but finally stomped back into school to change them when I said that his friend's feet would hurt if he had to wear 2 right boots.
Sometimes I think we're so much alike and have so much in common, and other times I just can't fathom the depths of what's going on in that cute noggin.
I unwrap something new every day.
Thank you, God, for these gifts.
Merry Christmas, friends. Xo.
