Let it shine

One of my favourite decorating traditions is putting candles in the windows. I just love the way our house looks and feels from inside and out when even dark rooms have a light flickering within. 

 The snow on the moonlight, the candle in the dark hall - I love everything about this moment.

I took a nap on the kitchen couch Sunday afternoon. The candles shone in the window, and outside, a snowy day gave way to evening sun (you can just glimpse it up there in the branches). It was so peaceful I fell asleep.

When I opened the candle box to walk around the house and make a little Christmas magic, I found a brand new pack of double A batteries. Last-year me was so kind to this-year me! Do organized people experience this kind of delight all the time?
