Common Grace

If you find yourself some freedom,
With ability, and time,
And this freedom coincides
With a moonlit night like mine -
Take your dog and take your leash
Slip your arms into your coat
Stuff your feet into your boots
Zip your zip up to your throat.
Walk or skip or run as sprightly
As your boots and bones allow
To the closest wildish place
And - if your dog stands still somehow -
Tip your head up to the sky
Let the wind caress your face
Drink the beauty and the stillness
As you bathe in common grace.
